AFTER Battery Park bath renovation

This large circa 1920 home needed a new tile floor , beaded panel board, some new trim and doors in the master bath and adjoining walk in closet.

The glass block window and the corner shelves in the shower are a nice touch.

BEFORE Shower renovation-Woodland Heights

This circa 1950 bathroom had to be gutted (except the floor). The original tile had a perforated sheet metal backing (most older tile has this), and it rusted and became fragile causing the tile to crack in a number of places. This allowed moisture to get behind the tile, further weakening it.

Shower renovation

This circa 1940 shower had to be gutted because the pan leaked, a common problem for old showers. Water pooling under the pan can create a rather insanitary situation. The walls were built back with 3/4 plywood, 1/2 inch tilebacker, and then the tile. The new floor has 3/4 plywood, sloped foam board, a vinyl liner, floor mud, and finally tile.

Fulton Hill bath renovation

This Fulton Hill bath was completed in Oct. 06. The house is circa 1910. I laid the floor, covered the walls with beaded plyboard, installed new trim, new sink, new toilet and tiled the tub surround. I also did the joint compound work and painting.
